Terms of Use

The intended use, calculation scope and responsibilities associated with the current Workroom Tools website.

Last updated:

These terms describe the use of the Workroom Tools website at workroomtools.com, its calculators and its explanatory content. The current tools are intended to support drapery planning and workroom calculations.

Using the tools

You may use the available calculators for your own projects and your workroom’s internal business work. No account is required for the current calculator. You may download, print and share the calculation outputs for those projects.

Use the site lawfully and do not attempt to gain unauthorized access, disrupt its operation or interfere with other visitors’ use.

Inputs, assumptions and review

You choose and check the measurements, material information and construction allowances entered into a tool. Example settings demonstrate the calculation; they are not a universal recommendation for fabric, fullness, seams or hems.

Each result depends on the stated calculation method. Review the inputs, breakdown and cut list against the actual material and your work order before ordering fabric or cutting it. A calculated quantity does not guarantee a suitable construction method, optimal fabric use or sufficient material on a roll you already own.

The current drapery tool uses whole-width vertical cuts for rectangular panels. Half-drop matching, railroaded layouts, horizontal motif alignment, motif centering and fractional-width optimization are outside its scope. The calculation method explains these limits.

Diagrams and educational content

Diagrams, photographs, blog examples and printed plans help explain the measurements and arithmetic. Screen diagrams and photographs are schematic or illustrative. Only the grommet positioning strip is laid out at physical size: verify its calibration square, a longer known span, print scaling and your hardware’s cutting instructions before using it for marking. It does not set the vertical hole position.

The tools and educational material support your review of a project; they do not replace inspection of the cloth or your own fabrication decisions.

Local saving and backups

Local saving keeps one project per tool in the current browser. It is not a hosted backup service. You are responsible for keeping any exported files or printed records you need, particularly before clearing browser data or replacing a saved project.

Our Privacy Policy explains what is saved locally and what happens when you export or remove a project.

Availability and changes

We may update a tool, its content or its calculation rules as the site develops. Tool availability, uninterrupted access and suitability for every project are not guaranteed. Saved project files include a rule version; a future version may require a compatible import or a fresh review of the result.

Keep a copy of important inputs and outputs so you can review the assumptions used for a job. Planned tools are not available until they are added to the tool directory.

Using your project outputs does not grant ownership of the website’s code, branding, illustrations or editorial content. Any rights applicable to those materials remain with their respective owners. Uses permitted by law remain permitted.
